Wye Valley NHS Trust Podiatry Service have an exciting opportunity for a podiatry degree apprentice to join our team integrated team and work within Herefordshire.
The podiatry degree apprenticeship programme is a fully funded route towards qualification a HPCP registered Podiatrist. This roles is fixed term for a period for approx. 43 months (depending on start date), from on boarding to completion of the degree.
Podiatrists are registered healthcare professionals specialising in the lower limb providing high quality clinical care to people of all ages.
As a specialist service we have a variety of teams and roles that provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice on a range of problems affecting the lower limb.

Main duties of the job
The programme includes 60% work-based learning within Wye Valley NHS Trust. The remaining 40% of the week, the course is delivered through blended learning, via Plymouth University.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with a commitment to personal development to deliver foot care to patients in a variety of settings, across, community, acute and primary care.
The post holder will be providing care with support available from a dedicated mentor.
Excellent communication and organisational skills and having the ability to use their own initiative and work in a team are essential.
Previous experience working with older people or other vulnerable groups would be an advantage.
Main duties:
- To attend all on line Plymouth University clinical modules as set out in the degree programme
- To complete and pass academic modules and clinical placements to the required standard in order to progress through the programme
- To ensure timely achievement of assignments and assessments in accordance with the academic programme requirements.
- To gain experience during the period of the Apprenticeship in a wide range of clinical areas.
