Job summary
Hereford County Hospital is a busy district general hospital serving the population of Herefordshire, Powys and parts of Shropshire. We currently have a vacancy in ultrasound for a a consultant sonographer.
The Radiology and Ultrasound department has undergone significant changes over the last 5years since entering into a partnership with Philips and you will have the opportunity to work with up to date technology.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), due to open in 2025 within Herefordshire.
The CDC will incorporate Imaging (Plain X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI and CT), A range of cardiorespiratory investigations and pathology services in a "one stop" location to obtain diagnostic information. The successful candidate will rotate through the newly built CDC.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to have a BSc in Radiography, Postgraduate Diploma and a MSc in Medical Ultrasound .
The post holder will be required to have a specialist area of interest which requires advanced skills of interpretation and clinical decision making. To exercise a high degree of professional and personal autonomy, demonstrating advanced clinical competence, decision making and a knowledge base beyond those associated with a conventional sonographer.
We are a busy department and there is a requirement for the successful candidate to participate in a 7 day working shift system.
