Governance & Risk Co-ordinator (INTERNAL)

Job summary

The post holder is responsible for the co-ordination of a range of quality governance activities at Divisional level and within individual Directorates and service groups within the Clinical Support Division, to ensure compliance with the governance agenda and the Trusts governance and risk framework. This includes effective complaint management, gathering patient feedback, patient safety, incident reporting, risk management, claims, policy and guideline management, adherence to clinical audit requirement and NICE guidance and meeting the regulatory requirements of external standards and inspection such as those undertaken by the Care Quality Commission.

As governance co-ordinator the post holder will have a key part to play in the implementation of the Division's Quality Governance Agenda, Improvement plan and activities and in developing a proactive, open learning and improvement culture.

The post holder will produce comprehensive Divisional and Directorate governance reports as required, analysing trends and themes from governance data.

Main duties of the job

Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust Division, Directorate and clinical governance framework.

Lead role in the on-going development and delivery of the Division's patient experience and engagement plans and activities

Works with Division and Directorates to ensure that robust action plans are developed and implemented following the outcome of external & internal visits, i.e. CQC inspection (or mock inspection).

Work with the corporate governance team, Directorates and SI investigators to facilitate the delivery of an effective serious incident (SI) pathway for the Division.

Promote and implement a patient safety culture in all Directorates within the Division, delivering education and training in all aspects of governance as necessary

Monitor and report Divisional performance against Trust and local key performance indicators and standards, providing support to service lines as appropriate to achieve against those indicators

Work with the Divisional Management Team to maintain an effective Divisional risk register, developing an infrastructure to provide assurance that the systems for managing risk are robust and reportable for the Division.

Plan and monitor implementation of the Division and Directorates clinical audit programme to support quality and patient safety improvement and robust governance.
