Junior Sister/ Charge Nurse - Wye Ward

Job summary

Our high performing, specialist stroke service supports patients in the immediate treatment of stroke. We provide acute care and rehabilitation with highly skilled specialist teams of nurses, doctors and therapists.

As a B6 junior sister/ charge nurse you will be responsible for promoting and implementing practice conducive to the development of high quality patient care by providing professional, clinical and managerial leadership. You will be expected to take charge of the Unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse and provide support and guidance to all staff.

Main duties of the job

Wye Ward is looking for an experienced and proactive nurse to support the Ward Sister with the day to day management of the ward. The successful candidate will be expected to take on the management and daily oversight of Wye in the absence of the Ward Sister. We are increasing our B6 numbers to ensure that there is B6 cover on the ward 24/7 and to improve all aspects of the care we give.

As a junior sister/ charge nurse on Wye you will have responsibility for monitoring standards and quality in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care. You will monitor and support staff training and education, risk management reporting at ward level.

A strong clinical background in acute general medicine is essential to this role to support the nursing team and ensure our patients receive the right standard of care.

As a junior sister / charge nurse, you will work closely with the multi professional team members to enhance service delivery. As an individual new to the role, you will be well supported by your peers within the medical division.

The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about nursing and values the contribution nursing makes to high quality patient care.
