Job summary

Fantastic opportunity in a beautiful county for a Band 5 or Band 6 speech and language therapist for a year post to cover maternity leave.

Are you looking for a new challenge and a chance to work in a new area? The community stroke team at Wye Valley NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed Speech and Language Therapist.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team with other Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

The post holder would ideally have some knowledge & experience of working with adults with a stroke diagnosis.

We are looking to recruit to a Band 6 or band 5 therapist, and will consider applications for full time or part time hours.

If you have a post-graduate qualification in Dysphagia this would be an advantage, as would previous experience of using online teletherapy systems. Regardless of your level of experience, support and supervision from peers and mentors will be available.

Due to the nature of providing predominantly domiciliary visits in this post, being a car driver is essential.

Main duties of the job

You will be managing (with support as needed) your own clinical caseload in the community. This is predominantly in domiciliary settings, so you will need to be able to meet the travel requirements of the post. There may be options for online teletherapy as an option for some of your clients.

Engage in and be pro-active in CPD activities in order to continually provide evidence based practice and intervention.
