Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within the MDT team as an MDT co-ordinator. This position is for a fixed term role for a period of 10 months for 37.5 hours per week across Monday - Friday, there may be a requirement for one to two early morning starts per week.
The successful candidate will require excellent organisational and communication skills, demonstrate the ability to work self-sufficiently, using their own initiative and be willing to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the service. The individual must also have the ability to work well under pressure and have the desire to provide a first class service for patients and the clinical teams.
The overview of the role is:
- To act as a co-ordinator and provide administrative support to the multi disciplinary team, ensuring all new cancer cases are discussed
- Prepare and maintain all related documentation, pertaining to the smooth running of MDT meetings
- To assist in the site specific data collection processes, cancer waiting times and national cancer data sets and input on various information systems
Main duties of the job
- Co-ordinate weekly, fortnightly, monthly MDT meetings ensuring patient notes, radiologyreports and histology results are made available and any actions recommended at theMDT meeting are followed-up.o Ensure administration duties are carried out in accordance with site specific MDT's toinclude circulating lists of cases to be discussed, recording attendance at MDT, recordingof outcomes & summary report.o In liaison with CNS ensure the outcomes of the MDT meetings are recorded accuratelyand placed in patient notes.o Ensure cancer waiting times data is collected and recorded for each cancer siteresponsible for and adhere to deadlines.o Ensure site-specific data is collected on relevant databases, using identified datacollection processes, in agreement with the clinical teams
