Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen on Frome & Primrose wards for a part-time Housekeeper to join our team.

The successful candidate will work to support the wider team and nurses to deliver excellent, safe and effective care within a friendly and supportive environment.

The main element of the role is ensuring and supporting the delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient's needs as specified by the Ward Manager. The post holder will work cooperatively with colleagues, as part of the team and perform additional duties as and when directed by the Ward Manager.

We are looking to recruit someone who understands the importance of confidentiality, has good communication skills and able to manage their time efficiently as an independent worker but also value being part of a well-established team.

We are looking for someone to work flexibly covering weekdays and some weekends which is negotiable.

Main duties of the job

The role of Housekeeper is vital for the smooth running of the department and you will be responsible for supporting the nursing team with non-clinical tasks, co-ordinate the provision of meals and help maintain a safe, clean, comfortable environment for patients. You will also be responsible for ordering stores and managing the storeroom and also to ensure that the department is kept well stocked. You will need to be able to use a computer and communicate with all members of the team.

You will be able to create a culture of continuous improvement, where patient welfare is at the heart of all you do.
