A fixed term opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to work as part of the Surgical Division as Deputy General Manager for the Head, Neck & Orthopedic Directorate. This role would suit an enthusiastic and forward thinking person looking for a challenge in a post that is both interesting and varied.

The role of Deputy General Manager, as well as providing a senior point of contact to Admin and Clerical staff, works closely with clinical and nursing leads to ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered, in line with the Trust policy and standard operating procedures.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have previous experience of leading a team, managing change and resolving complex problems. They should be resilient, organised, work well under pressure and have exceptional communication skills.

They will work closely with the General Manager to ensure the Trust's Access Policy is adhered to and that all relevant Trust Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met. They will bring knowledge of demand and capacity planning and in this role and have the ability to use data in order to drive decision making.

They will also be responsible for the personal development planning and learning needs of the staff within their own administrative team, as well as managing any human resource issues by providing direct supervision to the Administrative Manager. Excellent leadership skills and the need to demonstrate your ability to remain positive in challenging times are essential.

This is a busy, demanding and challenging role.
