Job summary
To provide an efficient and comprehensive housekeeping service to all patients, visitors and staff while contributing to enhancement of patient care within the Charles Renton Unit.
The Housekeeping service plays a vital role and is included as part of the department team to ensure that a pleasant, safe, welcoming and clean environment is provided to patients, visitors and staff.
The housekeeper is responsible for stock control and procurement of the unit, ensuring stock is well maintained with no waste. They will also be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness standards in the unit are met, adhering to health and safety standards.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a comprehensive Housekeeping service to the unit ensuring consistent quality, efficiency and effectiveness of this service.
- To play a key role in assisting in the prevention and control of Healthcare Associated Infection.
- To maintain a welcoming and tidy environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- To ensure economical and safe use of supplies and equipment.
- To ensure close communication between Domestic Assistants and Nursing colleagues in relation to cleanliness and decontamination issues.
- To perform audits of cleanliness standards in the department.
