We look after medical patients and are specialist in Cardiology and Gastroenterology nursing, we are supported by specialist nurses in these areas. The ward is large - 30 beds and fast paced, we work together as a team to ensure that our patients get the best care.
There are opportunities to grow your career and we work closely with the coronary care unit and the other departments relating to our specialty - for example endoscopy and the cardiac Cath lab both in Hereford and Worcester.
Main duties of the job
To work as the registered nurse in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care.
oAct on any concerns to the raised, relating to standards of cleanliness, hazards and patient safety within the clinical area.
oTo ensure the nursing and medical team are regularly updated on patients' condition and progress.
oTo ensure the equipment is clean and in good working order and that damaged or faulty equipment is reported correctly. that the team
oTo ensure the environment is clean and tidy.
oTo participate with the induction of staff new to the clinical area.
oTo minimize hazards in the working area and report any identifiable hazards to the ward sister. To adhere to all safe systems of work applicable to the work area.
oTo demonstrate effective communication, both orally and in writing, to ensure dissemination of information.
oTo maintain confidentiality at all times.
oTo promote awareness of child protection issues referring to area child protection policy and Trust policy. Attend child protection training in accordance with the policy.
oTo promote awareness of adult protection issues referring to the Herefordshire Multi-Agency Policy and Procedures for The Protection of Vulnerable Adults from Abuse. Attend adult protection training sessions in accordance with the policies and procedures.
