Specialty Doctor (Diabetes & Endocrinology)

Wye Valley Trust are looking for a Specialty Doctor in Diabetes & Endocrinology for 24months. This post provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Physician to work along with Consultant colleagues to further develop specialty outpatient services and inpatient Diabetes in-reach as part of the multidisciplinary team in a small, friendly medical community.

The aim is to provide a service which fulfils National Service Framework Standards of Care with seamless primary and secondary care services as part of NHS Herefordshire's Integrated Care Service.

As an integrated acute and community Trust the successful candidate will be based in Hereford County Hospital and will work collaboratively to develop the local endocrine service and integrated diabetes service across the county.

This is an exciting time for the Trust who have just invested in a significant increase in our medical consultant workforce across medicine and ED along with construction of new modern wards on our County Hospital site.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be based in the Hereford County Hospital and will work collaboratively to develop the local endocrine and integrated diabetes service across the county. The primary and secondary care teams are working together in an integrated diabetes care pathway.

The appointee will be expected to make a full and active contribution to the development of the Diabetes and Endocrinology service in Wye Valley NHS Trust. Every encouragement will be given by the team to develop aspects of the service which are of particular interest. This will include formulating/improving local guidelines and care pathways and supervising audit projects to ensure an excellent specialist service on the wards, out-patient department and in the wider community.
