Job summary
We have an opportunity for a band 5 dietitian who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to join our team of 14 dietitians, 4 Dietetic Assistants and 2 Nutrition Specialist Practitioners.
Dietetic specialties provided at Wye Valley NHS Trust include diabetes, gastroenterology, critical care, frailty, paediatrics, oncology, nutrition support, home enteral feeding, renal.
This post is an excellent opportunity to consolidate knowledge and skills.
You will gain experience in a range of inpatient clinical areas including gastroenterology, respiratory, elderly care, acute medicine, and care of the elderly. You will provide outpatient clinics at The County Hospital treating patients with a range of conditions including nutrition support, dysphagia, gastroenterology, weight management, diabetes. You will be supported in your role by specialist dietitians and will have the opportunity to gain experience alongside these through clinical attachments and our preceptorship programme.
You will be involved in student training, audit and service development projects.
We welcome applications from newly qualified and soon to qualify dietitians as well as dietitians looking to consolidate their experience. Part - time working can be considered.

Main duties of the job
- Provide a professional dietetic service for a range of general medical and surgical in-patients and outpatients at The County Hospital, Hereford and community hospitals in Herefordshire.
- To undertake dietetic clinics
- Assess and treat own workload of patients/clients and maintain associated records, with support as necessary from senior colleagues.
- Liaises with dietetic colleagues and other members of hospital staff as necessary, e.g. medical, nursing, catering and other health professionals.
