Job summary

We have a requirement for two full time Foundation Year 2 Doctors (FY2 LAS) fixed term for 4 months, to join our Obstetrics and Gynaecology Team in Wye Valley NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the day to day management of gynaecology patients under your care and ensure that patients are adequately prepared for theatre and discharge. You will be responsible for ensuring that each patient goes home with a hand-written or electronic discharge summary.

You will review emergency patients in A and E and take calls from the GP. You will review patients who have come to the early pregnancy assessment unit and manage the different diagnosis.

You will assist in the management of patients in maternity ward and assist in some of the practical issues in labour ward including assisiting at a caesarean section. The on-call FY2 LAS will be present at the team handover at 08.30 and 20.30. There is a 1:5 rota in place currently with out of hours working . This may change to a 1:6 rota from August.
