Are you looking for a new challenge? The paediatric speech and language therapy team at Wye Valley NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed Speech and Language Therapist. You will join a small, friendly and highly committed team of therapists and therapy assistants delivering support to children across rural Herefordshire. We are looking to recruit to a Band 6, full time permanent position (although part time applications will be considered), further details as below:

This is a varied and exciting post. It includes working in our pre-school 'Talk Talk' group at the Child Development Centre. This is a multi-disciplinary language group that supports children with significant speech and language difficulties. The post holder will also work in the school environment to support children with severe developmental language and speech disorders. The post includes both outreach in mainstream schools across the county and working in the Language and Communication Centre specialist provision. Experience in supporting children/young people with severe DLD and more complex presentations, including ASD would be a significant advantage.

Main duties of the job

Provide assessment and therapy for pre-school and school age children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties. Write concise notes, reports and programmes for children in order for family and education staff to support ongoing needs.

Support initiatives within the SALT service to maintain timely waiting lists and waits for therapy intervention.

Engage in and be pro-active in CPD activities in order to continually provide evidence based practice and intervention.
