Job summary
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking professional to play a key role in strengthening clinical governance and patient safety within our Perinatal Services Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to shape high-quality care through robust audit, guideline development, and collaborative improvement work.
A candidate with strong organisational skills, a passion for patient safety, and the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. Experience in clinical audit, guideline development, or quality improvement within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for:
Supporting the 'Perinatal Services' Directorate to develop robust systems for effective clinical audit and guidelines development to support the patient safety culture with the service.
Input to the annual clinical audit plan and guideline compliance for perinatal services.
Co-ordinate the development and implementation of the unit's guidelines, policies and actions arising from clinical audit.
Working collaboratively with the perinatal directorate clinical governance team, supporting the culture of patient safety using PSIRF and quality improvement methodologies.
Contribute to effective audit leadership and service development by the development, implementation and evaluation of standards of care, including guideline development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Oversight of compliance and current position of audit and guidelines
Co-chair the audit and guidelines group and co-ordinating audit activity within the directorate, alongside the audit convenor.
