Job summary

Are you a Registered Dietitian looking for an exciting new post? We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Dietitian with experience and interest in diabetes.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and time management skills, together with an ability to be flexible and a commitment to MDT working. In return, we offer excellent development opportunities within the field of diabetes.

Main duties of the job

Working autonomously and with the MDT undertake dietetic assessment and intervention to a caseload of patients with diabetes. The majority of these interventions will be in clinics and groups and include carbohydrate counting.

About us

Our Nutrition & Dietetic Service has a staff of 40 who provide a service to the ethnically diverse populations of Wolverhampton & Cannock. The dietetic service comprises 6 clinical teams within the department, and our admin team provides good secretarial support. We provide excellent training & development opportunities for our team, and clinical placements for learners from Coventry and Birmingham City Universities.

To assess, diagnose and treat nutrition related problems in patients with diabetes.

Proactively educate and support patients & their health care team to optimise glycaemic control in the light of diabetes and other co-morbidities/complications.

To work with the team to develop patient education resources.

To contribute to MDT meetings to improve patient care, treatment and outcomes.

To develop and arrange training for members of the multidisciplinary and dietetic team as required.

To participate in the training of learners on clinical placement.

To develop practice by undertaking journal clubs, audit and project work.
