Job summary

An opportunity has arisen in the West Midlands Cancer Alliance to join this dynamic, high profile and busy team. As a Senior Analyst, you will work as part of a dynamic team that provides support and expertise to help the Integrated Care Systems (ICS's), West Midlands Cancer Alliance and NHS England direct commissioners deliver their plans. You will be responsible for leading and managing analytical projects that contribute to the delivery of the National Cancer Programme priorities within the 10 Year Health Plan for England. We are looking for individuals with a strong analytical background in the NHS and ideally with a demonstrable understanding of cancer pathways.

Main duties of the job

o taking a data-driven approach to support the transformation of cancer outcomes across local cancer systems.

o tracking the implementation of national transformation priorities and evaluate their impact to share evidence and spread best practice.

o having access to the very latest analysis to support delivery of transformation activities.

o having access to timely and consistent data held locally, regionally and nationally on operational performance and cancer activities, outputs and outcomes in their area to track progress and to identify areas for action

o offering advice and guidance to support to the wider Alliance to enable local evaluations; synthesise emerging evidence, publish and disseminate national findings.

o managing and deliver programmes related to data analytics aimed at supporting the transformative of service improvement

o working closely with the ICBs Cancer Programme teams, championing the use of analysis and insight to improve decision-making on key priorities across the West Midlands

o developing strong networks with key internal and external stakeholders and partners to ensure alignment and coordination of work to maximise impact

Operational

To oversee team members to deliver requirements listed above and engage and liaise with key stakeholders, in particular;

To support the delivery of day-to-day activities, projects and programmes

To manage team and drive delivery of a range of business initiatives and projects

To provide expert strategic and policy advice and guidance on all areas of the Managing Directors portfolio

Project Management

  • Lead the team in the delivery of project plans, allocating tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and current options and ultimately making decisions in the best interest of the project.
  • Pro-actively manage stakeholders, respond to and resolve conflict when this arises through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms.
  • Be responsible for a high standard of work supporting the delivery of projects on time, to quality standards and in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain the project initiation document and associated plans with regular team meetings to monitor progress and resources.
  • Demonstrate effective stakeholder management.
  • Support other project managers as and when required.
