An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Urology Specialist Nursing Catheter and Nephrostomy Out Patients CANOS team for an innovative, dynamic and enthusiastic individual. This post offers an opportunity for development of specialist knowledge and skills, and you will work alongside and be supported by the existing clinical nurse specialists and advanced nurse practitioners.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to provide a high-quality service and be an effective role model to nurses and others health professionals involved in the care of patients with urological disease and cancer, ensuring that services are responsive to patients needs. The successful candidate will be committed to continued professional development and will be fully supported in their role.
You will be a registered first level nurse, ideally with experience within the field of urology but this is not essential. Competency in the administration of chemotherapy is desirable but not essential, as training will be given.
The urology service is delivered across three hospital sites including Wolverhampton, Walsall and Cannock. You will be required to be flexible to travel between sites.
A presentation will form part of the interview process.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing specialist advice, guidance and treatment to urology patients, their relatives and carers. You will act within your professional boundaries and demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and specialist care. As part of your role, you will support patients with urological cancer, through all stages of disease.
