Portfolio Pathway Fellow - Neurology

Job summary

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Clinical Fellowship Programme are pleased to offer a Portfolio Pathway Fellowship in Neurology.

Successful appointees will be expected and supported in achieving the competencies required for a PP application in Neurology thereby entering the Specialty Register and being eligible to apply for a UK Consultant position.

The directorate has a dedicated PP lead Consultant who would oversee the pathway progress in conjunction with the wider team.

The Trust has a central structure for support and assessment and a proven track record in supporting PP candidates leading to successful application.

The tenure will initially be for a period of 2 years with further extension based on annual successful ARCP recommendation and satisfactory review.

Previous experience will be taken into consideration and individualised structured programme to support attainment PP competencies will be developed.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will receive support from a dedicated supervisor. The support processes would include:

CPD/study leave

Periodic assessment

Exposure to the curriculum

Timely secondment (where required)

ARCP

PP Fellows would also be supported in preparation of paperwork, portfolio and examination requirements.

There would be opportunities to take up additional roles in teaching, management, quality improvement and mentorship. The process would be adapted to experience, placements or training which would influence the timeframe for completion of the PP with the indicative period being 2-3 years from the outset.
