Applications are invited for the position of Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3+ equivalent) in Older Adult Medicine from forward-thinking individuals. The posts provide structured training and support in gaining the skills and competencies needed to progress your career in Older Adult Medicine.
The post holder will be working with a team of Consultants, Specialist Trainees, Clinical Fellows, Core Trainees and Foundation Year Trainees, across 64 acute inpatient beds and 20 rehabilitation beds at the New Cross site. The post holder will work with the consultant team in the other services provided by the Older Adults Medicine directorate. These include Ortho-geriatrics, Dementia and Delirium In-reach, Front door Frailty, Community Geriatrics, and Perioperative medicine services.
The Older Adult Medicine team would support the post holder in relevant Quality Improvement and Research projects as they arise.
Main duties of the job
- Support of Older Adults wards (C18/19) including ward rounds, procedures and support of more junior doctors
- Clinical support on FSDEC including patient selection and assessment, requesting and interpreting investigations and discharge decisions as well as review of patients in Hot clinic.
- Clinical support of the orthogeriatric service including assessment of new and unwell patients
- Support of other older adults services including dementia/ delirium, rehabilitation, urgent community response and virtual ward and clinics as required.
