Job summary
Pattern: Weekdays & Weekends over a 24 hour period
We are looking to recruit to our Receptionist team to work primarily in the Urgent Treatment Centre, New Cross Hospital as part of our Emergency Services Directorate, but if necessary also at our UTC at Phoenix Health Centre. You will provide an efficient and confidential service, ensuring the professional image of the Service is maintained at all times.
Working various shifts per week the service will be open every day of the week over a 24hour period. Flexible working is essential for the post as this is a 7 day service.
The role will encompass dealing with patients, clinical and non-clinical staff by face to face and telephone; subsequently you will require excellent communications skills. A flexible approach to this role is essential to ensure the demands of the service are met.
As part of the team you will be registering patients onto the Trust computer system whereby accuracy is essential.
Working knowledge of all common computer applications including word is essential, as you will be required to carry out a wide range of transactions and associated data input. Specialist training will be given on 'in house' systems.
You should have a good standard of general education and have attained qualifications in English & Mathematics e.g. GSCE or equivalent. You will also require a clear understanding of the concept of confidentiality of personal health information.
