Job summary
This role is a fantastic opportunity to work as a key member of the Trusts EPR programme as a Data Migration Developer. The EPR programme will replace the Patient Administration system (PAS) for both Acute and Community services and implement a trust wide Electronic Patient record.
Working as part of the Data Migration team you will be responsible for ensuring that all required data is successfully migrated from legacy systems to the new EPR. This will involve working with staff from all areas and levels of the organisation and provides an exceptional opportunity to learn from both Operational and Clinical colleagues to augment your already strong data and analytics knowledge. You will also get to learn the new EPR system inside and out and gain fantastic experience and knowledge working on a complex 3 year programme.
The role involves working within a larger EPR Programme Team. You will work alongside the Data Migration Lead to support the development and maintenance of the Trusts Data Migration toolkit. Ensuring that data is migrated accurately and completely, supporting the requirements of the EPR Programme and achieving its key goals of improving productivity, sharing of information and improving patient outcomes.
The right candidate will be a natural problem solver with an eye for detail and excellent analytical skills. Significant real-world experience with Microsoft SQL Server (specifically T-SQL and SSIS) is required in order to be considered for this role.
Main duties of the job
As a Data Migration Developer you will work as part of a friendly and established Programme team. Working alongside and supporting the Data Migration Lead for the delivery of the Data Migration workstream and function as a subject matter expert on data migration.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Trusts Data Migration toolkit using T-SQL and SSIS, where necessary the development of new data extraction and migration processes to meet the requirements of the EPR programme.
- To lead on the development of a Trust Data Migration toolkit to extract and transform the required data for migration into the new EPR solution, ensure its on-going maintenance and alignment with Data Migration strategy.
- Responsible for the development of reporting tools and analytics to support Data Migration activities and support the EPR programme in its decision making.
- Ensuring all required data is extracted and transformed in line with agreed requirements for Data Migration purposes.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Data Migration workstream
