Job summary
Are you keen to develop your leadership skills in a supportive and dynamic paediatric service? You will work alongside the ward manager deputising in her absence. The role will involve mainly clinical work but there will be an allocation of management time within the roster. We envisage 1 long day management day a week and the rest of your time will be clinical.
Specific responsibilities will include, audit, quality rounds, and health and wellbeing management.
This role will allow you to work within a dynamic, forward thinking and established nursing team. We see a wide range of children and young people with a variety of different medical and surgical conditions which will providefantastic learning opportunities.

We offer a very supportive and welcoming team and will ensure you receive all the training on induction to enable you to carry out the role safely ensuring excellent standards of care.

To be considered for the role you will be a registered Children's Nurse with an RSCN or RN Child qualification and have completed ENB 998/Mentorship/ SLAiP course. You must also have evidence of professional updating within the last 12 months and have an appropriate post registration course. It would be advantageous to have management experience and evidence of effective leadership skills. As a team leader you will be responsible for managing your own team of staff ensuring that their mandatory training and annual personal development reviews are completed, as well as leading the team clinically. The posts will also include some managerial responsibilities.
All applicants should be flexible providing a 24 hour, 7 days a week service, working a shift pattern of days and nights to meet the needs of the service.
