Job summary
Clinical Illustration Department has two teams - Graphic Design and Clinical Photography. The Graphic Design Team currently has 5 members who you create accurate and aesthetically pleasing visual presentations, print work and animation for the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, other Trusts where we provide managed services and allied healthcare professions.
The successful candidate will be organised, flexible, creative and able to work to tight deadlines. Experience or producing work across a wide range of media is essential, including print an animation.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant must be able to design and coordinate the development and design of a wide range of electronic and printed graphic media. They will work on their own initiative, directly with clients, to ensure that each design brief is met, involving a variety of integrated steps and processes. They will require extensive knowledge of specialised, design concepts and media including animation.
Specialist knowledge across a range of procedures underpinned by theory is essential. Knowledge of printing, computing techniques and multimedia theory and practice acquired through relevant degree and additional specialist knowledge, in graphic design, video editing and animation.

- To receive raw information from clients which requires diplomacy and persuasion to come to an agreed effective conclusion within the constraints of time and budget.
- To advise on design solutions after analysing and comparing a range of design and production options, taking into account the conflicting demands of customers brief / budget / deadline and policies & protocols.
- To take part in multidisciplinary meetings on delegated projects, taking responsibility for the organisation of design projects, timetables and co-ordinating team members and external agencies.
- Maintenance of personal development plan and CPD record, to include appropriate technical and professional developments.
- Communicating information to professionals. Typically, this will involve explaining difficult to understand issues surrounding the use of clinical images; such as consent levels, confidentiality, distribution, copyright, security, data protection and Information Governance Guidelines.
