Job summary

Hilton Main is a 28 bed elective orthopaedic ward within Cannock Chase Hospital, with a further 8 bed Surgical enhanced care unit.

We can offer a comprehensive induction, an excellent training & development package.

We are looking for a qualified nurse associate to support the elective joint replacement enhanced recovery pathway, working alongside our current enhanced recovery nurse specialist.

An informal visit is strongly advised for this position

Main duties of the job

To provide effective, evidence based general and specific care for patients under the indirect supervision of a registered practitioner.

To plan, organise and deliver compassionate person-centred care, and treat patients, service users, their families and their carers with consideration, dignity and the respect you would want for yourself or your family.

To provide relevant forms of care with minimal supervision.

This role will be supporting and working alongside our current clinical nurse specialist

Assisting the Enhanced Recovery Specialist Nurse with data collection for all elective joint replacement patients within the Orthopaedic Department.

Arranging appointments for face-to-face Joint School via the Patient Administration System (PAS).

Maintaining accurate records of Joint School attendance via the Patient Administration System (PAS).

Assisting/participating in the delivery of face-to-face Joint School.

Assisting in signposting of patients to online joint school

Actively participating in the delivery of Enhanced Recovery in the post-operative phase (including early mobilisation)

Ensuring systems are in place for the effective flow of patients through the unit.
