In 2018 we introduced our quality and experience Midwifery Team, who are dedicated to supporting and developing our staff. We aim to inspire and support midwives to realise their full potential as autonomous practitioners, optimizing safe birth outcomes whilst being able to support the the high-risk pathway. We lead midwives to build their confidence in evidence-based practice to empower them to challenge the traditional model and so change practice.
We also have an active team ofProfessional Midwifery Advocatesto further enhance the support we can offer our midwives and families.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Midwives to join our fabulous team. We have opportunities in all areas of maternity services including community.
We offer our staff a wide variety of training and development opportunities including Clinical Fellowship MSc Programmes, access to mentors and peer support groups to support their personal and career development objectives.
We place our woman, babies, and their families at the centre of our service. We are a consultant led unit with a dedicated Midwifery Led Unit and deliver care to a diverse population with complex medical and social needs working alongside a team of Specialist Midwives. If successful rotational contracts are offered to ensure that you will gain expertise in caring for women, their families and their babies and you gain the experience to progress in your career.
Our shift patterns are flexible 8 & 12 hours long. Full or part time hours will be considered.
About us
The Maternity Unit has around 5000 births a year, up to 20% of births will be on our Midwifery Led Unit, a 5-suite unit with 3 birthing pools and a home like feel that women and families value. We have a designated Maternity Induction Unit, offering facilities for women and families to start their birth journey in a more comfortable and supportive environment. Our Maternity Triage Unit offers space to assess women and ensure they receive the best care and are directed to the most appropriate person or department.
