Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic nurse to take on a specialist role as an ADHD/ASD clinical nurse specialist within our community paediatrics service. You will work alongside our community paediatric consultants to deliver ADHD/ASD assessments and prescribe medication, where indicated, to children and young people.

We will ensure that you have access to internal opportunities for development with access to supervision and appraisal.

You will be undertaking independent prescribing practice, working alongside our Consultants. Working alongside the other NMP Nurse in the team, the role is multifaceted and includes service development, consultation, teaching/training, and supervision, as well as active involvement in research projects, quality improvement projects, and wider Trust initiatives.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals with strong communication and organisational skills, who are able to work autonomously and effectively prioritise their workload.

Main duties of the job

You will deliver autonomous advanced level practice encompassing aspects of education, research and management that is firmly grounded in direct compassionate care provision and clinical work with patients, families, caseloads and populations. You will:

Undertake ADHD/ASD assessments using recognized assessment tools and diagnosis and physical health assessment.

Initiate non-pharmacological treatments and interventions and pharmacological treatments working as non-medical prescriber.

Provide specialist advisory, training, consultation and liaison to support other RWT staff and Primary Care Colleagues.

Directly contribute to a positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary team.
