Job summary

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced midwifery leader to work within a motivated ambitious, multi-professional team to deliver the National Agenda for Postnatal Care at a forward-thinking dynamic maternity service. Quality & safety are central to this post and the Trust is committed to delivering Saving babies Lives |Care Bundle.

Our busy Postnatal Ward delivers care to approximately 5000 women per year.

To support you in your new role we have a strong senior leadership team who work collaboratively with our consultant body. Support for all staff is provided by our dedicated PMA Team and Professional Development Team

The Trust will provide you with local development programs for experienced staff which will provide you with support and guidance, regular staff engagement, feedback sessions and a supportive team ethos.

Main duties of the job

To deliver autonomous advanced level practice encompasses aspects of education, research and management but is firmly grounded in direct compassionate care provision or clinical work with patients, families, caseloads and populations.

To be accountable for:

Ensuring safe and effective clinical practice

Enhancing the patient's experience

Ensuring effective contribution to the delivery of the organisation's objectives

Efficient and effective use of resources

Managing and developing the performance of the team
