As part of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare Trust collaborative working strategy an exciting opportunity has become available for you to join our Operational Estates Team.
Our organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical biased - Worker Specialist to be a part of Cannock Chase Hospital Estates Team delivering planned and reactive maintenance services across the hospital site within a small, dedicated Estates Team.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be motivated, forward thinking, and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about delivering a first class, efficient and quality service and have a good grounding in Building Services engineering.
They will demonstrate highly developed physical and technical skills and a keen willingness to learn and develop new skills particularly associated with building controls, Low-Voltage systems (Lighting & Power) Generators, emergency lighting systems, Fire Alarm systems, UPS/IPS systems, Lifts BMS systems, HVAC, and critical alarms. successful applicants will be able to repair complex faults on a wide range of systems and facilitate such works having freedom to prioritise activity to maximise performance.
They will be a team player and capable of managing works acting as responsible/approved person for the issue of Permit to Work (PTW) documentation etc. ensuring necessary procedural documentation is always in place. They should have good communication skills and be able to communicate effectively at the appropriate level.
Note - It is expected as part of the role that from time to time there will be a requirement for overtime to carry out PPMs & breakdowns and staff may have to participate in on call arrangements.

- Needs to hold qualification to NVQ level 3 or above in appropriate engineering course/achieved Grades
- Have experience & knowledge of working across building services (M&E services)
- Substantial experience
- Good working knowledge of BS7671 Requirement for Electrical Installations
- Experieince working on Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Systems
- Fault diagnosis experience across range of M&E services
- Able to carry out Electrical Installations & testing to BS7671 requirements
Desirable
- ONC/HNC in building services, Mechanical Engineering, or electrical engineering
- Good understanding of Trend, Schneider or similar BMS systems
- Have good understanding of Motors & controls
- Has worked on critical alarm systems such as DRAX
- Has CP status for Ventilation equipment
- Has LV CP/AP status for Electrical Systems
- Confined space training (CS1)
