Job summary

An exciting opportunity has opened up in the Data Security and Protection team to work with us to help improve data handling and privacy across an evolving and dynamic environment. The Trust is growing in terms of its technology and scope, covering services such as community, primary care and acute. Working in this field means that no two days are the same.

The role will be supporting the IG agenda across the organsiation, working at all levels to embed standards and practice.

The role will be a combination of both office based and working from home.

Main duties of the job

The role willact as a source of expertise on Information Governance issues including EU and national legislation and local policies and procedures, throughout the Trust.

To work closely with managers and staff across the organisation to ensure that Information Governance policies and procedures are developed in line with best practice and that standards are understood and adhered to.

Support with the management of information assets and information risk, embeding data protection by design principles into practice. Reviewing and advising on DPIAs will be a key part of the role

To identify areas of risk in the delivery of the Information Governance and data security, evaluating the effectiveness of controls and making appropriate recommendation for the successful management of risk.

Essential

  • ISEB or equivalent
  • Degree or equivalent level of professional Qualification relevant to role.
  • Qualified in or knowledge of records management requirements

Desirable

  • DP qualification equivalent

Experience

  • Specialist knowledge of Governance issues relevant to the NHS including relevant specialist organisational / procedural / policy knowledge in relation to records and information management
