An opportunity has arisen within The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for an Advanced Physiotherapist in Pain Management.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist with experience in pain management and multidisciplinary collaboration, who is committed to high-quality care, teaching, and research.
The Pain Management Service will be integral to patient recovery, functioning as a key element of perioperative care, non-surgical treatment pathways, and complex rehabilitation.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of pain care in one of the UK's foremost specialist orthopaedic hospitals, working in a collaborative service working closely with expert pain nurses, specialist physiotherapists, a clinical psychologist, and surgical teams across the Trust. The role focuses on the development of patient-centred pathways, interventional pain procedures, and embedding a biopsychosocial model in musculoskeletal and post-surgical pain management.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will plan and be responsible for the delivery of their practice in the specialist area. They will fulfil the 4 pillars of advanced clinical practice:Clinical leadership,Expert clinical practice,Research and Audit activity,Education
This is an advanced clinical role with the focus being clinical activity, to work as an autonomous, advanced practitioner, with an extended scope of practice to work with the team to deliver care within the relevant specialism; providing a high standard of specialist assessment and treatment of patients. Using evidence-based principles/ current best practice and advanced specialist skills and clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
To ensure all clinical practice is based on current research /evidence, developing and undertaking audit and research as appropriate in own specialist area.
To report on findings and advise on recommended management across the whole patient pathway, which includes prevention, enablement and resettlement.
To identify plan and coordinate the development of the case for change in order to improve and develop advanced practice services.

The postholder will be skilled to work with individuals with learning needs, physical and mental health conditions and additionally will have a high level of experience and clinical reasoning with social situational assessments and lifestyle choices to enable a holistic assessment of needs.
Interventions will support the patient to manage their own health and wellbeing through promoting health/healthy lifestyle choices and coping/self management skills through an educational and skill based approach.
The interventions will promote recovery, enablement and maximum level of independence during and following illness, reducing the limiting factors of disability and chronic conditions.
Through own caseload and sharing specialist skills within the pain service MDT, supporting patients to manage their condition, recover/ improve their level of functioning through, health promotion, early interventions, condition and self management and supporting the patient to manage their condition
To lead and develop designated staff through providing clinical supervision and identifying staff development plans.
To liaise with patients, other health and social care colleagues and services internal and external to community complex conditions service, to achieve the optimum health outcome for clients.
