An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1st level Registered Nurse to work within our multi-professional team. We are looking for a motivated dynamic practitioner to work in the MSK Surgery Division on Clwyd Ward (Enhanced Recovery).

Main duties of the job
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, caring professional with clinical leadership skills and a self-directed individual. The role involves leading a team in assessing, planning, and implementing evidence-based care to service users. You will role model and support the running of shifts, coordinating and delegating nursing duties to the nursing team. Whilst working on the ward, you will be expected to work shifts covering 7 days a week, including longdays.
We are looking to attract candidates with great leadership qualities, providing professional leadership and development to their team. Acting as an effective role model and demonstrating personal commitment to continuous support of the Ward Manager in improvements, taking responsibility for the leadership and supervision of the team.

Be responsible for the delivery of safe, high quality patient focused care.
Be responsible for ensuring all resources are used to optimum effect, ensuring all members of the multidisciplinary team comply with local protocols in infection control, manual handling, Health and Safety, patient advocacy and will expediate quality issues, relating to Servicedelivery.
Act as a resource, within the specialist areas of orthopaedics and surgical assessment to empower nursing staff and other allied health care professionals to develop clinical skills.
To assist with audits, rotas, datix's, appraisals, staff sickness and attend meetings.
To undertake Clinical Site Manager duties.
Deputise for the Unit Manager in their absence.
To be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of care to ensure individual needs are met.
Anticipate where possible, patient needs before they occur, develop an action plan in order to deliver a safe and effective pathway.
Provide an expert level of technical knowledge and skills to safely and accurately physically assess patients prior to anaesthetic.
To co-ordinate, assist and advise others in the surgical environment.
To have advanced knowledge of human anatomy/physiology in relation to the orthopaedic care
Maintain own specialist knowledge and clinical skills within the field of orthopaedics and surgery. To be able to underpin applied theoretical knowledge in a variety of situations to determine patient care required.
Ensure due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of the patient, family, carers and staff by upholding the Trust Diversity/Equal Opportunities Policy
Maintain high levels of interpersonal skills, and coping mechanisms to manage potential exposure to distressing situations.
Facilitates and maintains patient records to ensure information is accurate and up to date for future reference and complies with the Data Protection Act, NMC Patient Record Keeping Guidelines, prepares patient clinical information to ensure the delivery of effective patient care.
Frequent provision of patient care, which requires the use physical effort to assist patients to manoeuvre. Ability to use all manual handling equipment in a safe manner by attending annualmandatory training.
Be able to demonstrate dexterity in skills during clinical practice.
Handling of waste body fluids, ensuring correct disposal.
Participates in yearly appraisal and attends statutory training to ensure adherence to Trust policy and current legislation.
