Job summary
Oswald Ward is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team. We currently have a Ward Clerk vacancy which is a permanent post for 15 hours per week.
Oswald Ward is dedicated to MSK oncology and orthopaedic patients. The ward is led by Ward Manager, Sister Fiona Hughes and specialises in the care of patients with bone and soft tissue sarcomas and metastatic disease, prides itself on the outstanding care delivered to patients throughout their entire journey from referral through to treatment, discharge and follow up care. It is one of five specialist centres within the United Kingdom, covering a large demographic area and has a strong multidisciplinary focus, both within and outside the Trust, working closely with other NHS organisations and services such as Macmillan. The service offers individualised holistic care, to those patients requiring surgical and palliative care. The service is dedicated to the development of all staff members to ensure they are confident and proficient in providing highly skilled, high quality care.
Under current Home Office Immigration Rules, this role does not meet the UK Visas and Immigration criteria and the position is not therefore eligible for skilled worker sponsorship. Applications from candidates that require skilled worker sponsorship will NOT be shortlisted.
Main duties of the job
Under the direction of the Ward Manager, the post holder will be responsible for assisting the ward team, ensuring the smooth functioning of the unit through effective communication, general administration and appropriate interactions with patients, visitors and the multidisciplinary team.
