Job summary
This is a Locum Consultant post, full time, with 10 programmed activities per week, Surgical and Clinical. The remit of the postholder will be to work within the multi- disciplinary team providing and developing care for orthopaedic patients within the Sports Knee Firm. The individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Sports Knee department.
The post will be primarily based at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, an NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
You will perform a range of orthopaedics procedure on patients referred to the Hospital. You will be treating NHS patients referred to the hospital, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices.
As well as being able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems in elective orthopaedics from your experience, you will be required to perform surgical procedures on patients referred to the hospital, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices.

- Registered with the GMC with licence to practice and with no restrictions and currently practicing clinician, plus entry on the GMC Specialist Register for T&O via CCT or CESR (CP)

- Higher degree e.g. MD Ph.D

- Fully trained in the generality of knee surgery and able to develop a sub-speciality interest.
- All round Orthopaedic experience
- Fellowship in area of special interest knee surgery 12 months minimum post entry onto the specialist register.
- Independent surgical practice in core knee procedures (ACL/TKR/UKR/Osteotomy - demonstrated by log book)

- 12 Months + subspecialty fellowship training.
