Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator who will be responsible for the appraisal and medical re- validation process for all doctors employed by the Hospital.
Medical re-validation is the process by which doctors in the UK demonstrate to the General Medical Council that they meet the standards set to ensure patient safety and high quality care.
Applicants must hold a relevant degree and be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. In addition previous experience of implementing information systems and planning and organising is essential.
This vacancy is open ONLY to employees of The RJAH Orthopaedic Hospital NHS FT, Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust, Shropshire Community NHS Trust and Shropshire Telford and Wrekin ICB. Applications from candidates NOT currently working in these organisations will not be shortlisted.
Under current Home Office Immigration Rules, this role does not meet the UK Visas and Immigration criteria and the position is not therefore eligible for sponsorship. Applications from candidates that require skilled worker sponsorship will NOT be shortlisted.
Main duties of the job
- Act as single point of contact for medical staff on their medical appraisal portfolios.
- Recording, monitoring and scheduling all medical re-validation and appraisal activities.
- Gathering supporting documentation required for re-validation.
- Manage the appraisal platform (premier IT) providing support to users as required.
- Produce regular and adhoc reports related to the appraisal and re-validation process.
- Managing the compliance database.
There is potential development in the role in certain areas, and opportunity to attend courses for specific workstreams.
