We are seeking to recruit an Inpatient Booking Clerk to join the busy in-patient department within the Access Team.
The post holder will be involved in maintaining the delivery of the in-patient pathway of the Stage of Treatment, and Referral to Treatment Target (RTT) in line with national targets.
This will be achieved through the booking of consultants' theatre lists, pre-operative assessments and management of their waiting lists, with the recording of all necessary information on the Trust Patient Administration System and Bluespier. The post holder will also be expected to carry out other clerical duties involved as deemed necessary.
Successful applicants will need to be able to display discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information and be able to deal calmly and politely with staff of all levels and the public both face to face and by telephone.
Applicants must be educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Experience of working in a busy office environment and using computers is essential. Experience of using Careflow, Bluespier is desirable but training in the use of necessary computer systems will be provided.
Main duties of the job
To manage and co-ordinate the inpatient pathway from the decision to admit to the day of admission. Maintaining a clear and robust inpatient waiting list, monitoring suspension/deferrals and ensuring capacity to treat all patients on the waiting list is available, working closely with the Inpatient Team Leader and Administrative Service Manager.
