This vacancy is open ONLY to employees of The RJAH Orthopaedic Hospital NHS FT, Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust, Shropshire Community NHS Trust and Shropshire Telford and Wrekin ICB. Only applications from candidates currently working in these organisations will be accepted.

We are looking for a MCSI Therapies Administration Assistant.

The post holder will provide secretarial and administrative support to the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries Therapy Team to assist with the rehabilitation of patients, the discharge process and on-going issues post discharge.

Main duties of the job

To assist the team lead in implementation and maintenance of E-Roster

Produce Reports/correspondence using Big Hand

Updating DTOC with delayed discharge information

Assist with projects (eg electronic timetabling) within the department

To set up new case notes, provide core data and establish contact details of responsible Social Services Departments, wheelchair services and CCG.

Chase referrals for wheelchairs and cushions, shower chairs, respiratory equipment, standing equipment and Community Therapy.

To follow up referral to Social Services to ensure allocation of named OT and arrange access visit.

To notify the community therapy team (PT, COT, wheelchair services, respiratory services), of patient discharge.

To notify the Community OT of access visits.

To work closely and effectively with the Therapy Team in order to support communication throughout the service, take messages and relay information.

To maintain an effective Therapy Office Environment and systems including patient timetabling.

To enter patient contact activity onto Lorenzo on behalf of the Therapy Team.

At the request of the Therapy Service Manager the post holder will provide support and cross cover to the administrative team in the therapies department.
