We are seeking to a recruit an efficient Spinal Disorders Administrator into the Spinal Service.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the Spinal Disorders Unit manages itself with respect to compliance with the British Spinal Registry (BSR) Database, as well as for the coordination of the Spinal Disorders Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). This will ensure all relevant patients are discussed and planned for and that resulting records are produced in a timely and accurate fashion.

Main duties of the job

To ensure compliance across the unit in terms of Harms reviews, including liaising with colleagues across various teams to ensure action is taken wherever necessary. To provide general administrative support to clinical and operational colleagues.

Solely responsible for collection, management and coordination of data to be entered into the British Spinal Registry (BSR) database.

Liaising both verbally and in writing with patients and clinical colleagues to ensure data is captured accurately about Spinal Disorders Surgery outcomes within the Trust.

Maintaining high levels of concentration to ensure accurate input and delivery of this information, working to tight timescales, at times with interruptions.Responsible for meeting all RSN reporting deadlines for the BSR and responding to all data queries to both internal and external parties in writing and verbally.Following policy and procedure as regards data collection, and proposing improvements to processes where necessary.MDT

Responsible for ensuring that all patients being listed for surgery in the short term are captured ahead of the Spinal MDT.Ensuring that all listed patients are discussed at the Multi-Disciplinary Team Meeting and ensure that consultants are aware where necessary to discuss cases in other forums. Responsible for clear and accurate minuting of patient outcomes post-MDT and for ensuring electronic records are held.

Ad Hoc

Ensuring all patients with a diagnosis of scoliosis and kyphosis are tracked by the clinical team and appropriate measures put in place to ensure timely and appropriate care, discussion and forward planning.

Providing regular reports as required by clinical colleagues to support RSN and Cancer Board.

Acting as a point of patient contact for Spinal Data enquiries relating to the Tumour service and the BSR.

Frequent patient communication.

Taking and transcribing accurate and comprehensive minutes for the Spinal Directorate meetings, for circulation at Board level.

Administrative support to Clinical and operational colleagues as required.Liaising with relevant departments to resolve IT issues in a timely manner.

Maintaining and ordering office supplies for the department as required.

Frequent sitting in a desk based role and frequent VDU use.
