Job summary

The Department of Orthotics at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital, Oswestry is currently looking for an enthusiastic medical secretary/PA to join our team. The post is permanent, and you would be joining a large team working in an in-house NHS Orthotics Service. The vacancy is due to a retirement and the role details are fully advised in the attached job description. The vacancy is to provide secretarial support to the Orthotics Dept.

The service provides clinics at several different locations in Shropshire and within developed multi disciplinary teams covering specialities including foot and ankle, paediatrics, spinal injuries, spinal disorders, gait analysis and diabetes. As a dept. we are dedicated to supporting clinical development of staff and have supported training programmes.

The department has a large onsite manufacturing workshop. This facilitates the opportunity to develop aspects of Orthotic manufacture and prescription ideas, directly with technicians.

Main duties of the job

The role is varied and covers all aspects of admin. The main element is the diary organization of the clinical team producing the departments clinical rota. This in undertaken liaising with many different dept.'s and ensuring full utilization of the capacity available. Once published the diaries are then also managed day to day with frequent amendments.

In addition the role provides secretarial support to the senior leaders team within the dept. Again this area is varied and includes typing correspondences, diary management, SOP management, organizing meetings, prepping agendas and papers for meetings, undertaking minutes and managing action logs.
