Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 5 Nurse to join our Fertility Nurses team. With support and training competencies will be achieved. Experience in a Fertility or Women's health setting would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide evidence based Nursing care to patients undertaking their Fertility journey.
  • To prepare and support patients through fertility investigations and treatment, from referral to completion of treatment.
  • The ideal candidate will have some fertility or gynaecology experience to build upon to achieve competencies. Phlebotomy and venepuncture skills are essential or to be willing to undertake training.
  • The role involves working with a patient group who are receiving treatment which can be stressful, so a calm manner and empathetic approach is essential.
  • The post holder will have to develop a good working knowledge of the HFEA.

About us

We are a small and friendly multi-disciplinary team, consisting of Nurses, Scientists, Administrative staff and Doctors, based at Severn Fields Health Village. We moved off site from the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in June 2018 and benefit from working in relatively new, comfortable surroundings, designed for our speciality.
