Warehouse Operative - Medical Records

The closing date is 17 March 2026

Job summary

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Medical Records team on a 12 month fixed-term basis. You will play an important part in supporting the relocation of Medical Records to a new site and in the day-to-day operations ofour new warehouse facility.

This role involves retrieving and returning medical notes within our filing libraries, ensuring they are organised accurately in numerical order. The work also includes tasks such as using step ladders or step stools to access higher shelving (full training will be provided). You will also be required to move boxes and files as part of the daily workload. This is a hands-on role that includes regular manual handling and working in a warehouse environment.

You'll also use a PC and the Trust's Patient Administration System as part of your routine duties. You'll need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder would be expected to use the Trust's Patient Administration System (PAS) SEMA, within all areas of Health Records and Patient Access; this will require use of a VDU and keyboard skills daily.
  • Receive, sort and deliver patient records to all wards and departments, including peripheral buildings as instructed by the Medical Records Supervisor.
  • Responsible for the provision of a comprehensive day to day health library service.
  • The post holder would be expected to meet performance standards specific to the area they are working in.
  • Ensure that when handling patient information, or discussing patient needs, confidentiality guidelines are strictly adhered to and that close attention is given to the Trust's Confidentiality Policy and Information Governance guidelines.
  • To be aware of and work within the Trust's Health & Safety policy at all times.

About us

Our Poppy's Promise Commitment

We believe that compassionate care sits at the heart of everything we do. Every member of our team -- clinical or non-clinical -- plays a vital role in ensuring that patients, families, and colleagues are treated with dignity, empathy, and respect at all times.

We expect all staff to demonstrate compassion not only through their words, but through their actions: by listening attentively, communicating clearly and kindly, and recognising individual needs, feelings, and circumstances of those in our care.

Effective communication is central to safe and high-quality healthcare. We value colleagues who take the time to understand others, explain information in a meaningful way, and respond to concerns with patience and understanding.

By joining our team, you are committing to uphold these values -- ensuring that every patient feels heard, respected, and valued, and that compassion is embedded in every interaction, every day.
