Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic practitioner to join our fantastic Clinical Endoscopist Team. You will be required to work autonomously performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower procedures, including TNE and Capsule Endoscopy, and with the opportunity to become a BCSP accredited colonoscopist. You will also deliver practitioner led clinics for specific cohorts of patients.
The successful applicant will be expected to be a JAG accredited trainer and to participate in the delivery of formal JAG courses, at SATH and within the Midlands Endoscopy Training Academy. They will also deliver regular training lists meeting the needs of both clinical and medical SaTH endoscopy trainees, whilst also acting as a JAG assessor. They will also be an integral member of the team delivering immersion training.
There is an expectation that the post holder will have a Masters in Advanced Clinical practice or equivalent or be enrolled on a Masters degree programme. They should be an Independent Prescriber or working towards this.
The post holder will be a role model for professional practice, exercising accountability and providing support and leadership within the Endoscopy Team. You will work closely with the consultant and nursing teams to provide high standards of patient care and achieve national targets to meet service needs and ensure JAG accreditation is maintained.
Main duties of the job
To deliver upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy and related services within the field of endoscopy and gastroenterology.
To act as a role model for professional practice, exercising accountability and providing support and leadership within the Endoscopy Team. You will work closely with the consultant and nursing teams to provide high standards of patient care and achieve national targets to meet service needs and ensure JAG accreditation is maintained.
The post holder will be involved in delivering JAG training courses aswell as providing training and assessment of clinical and medical endoscopy trainees.
