Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Adult Nurse to provide clinical and managerial leadership within an Acute Medicine setting. This is a busy but rewarding role working in a newly created AMA area, to support expanding acute medicine services with an established clinical and operational team existing within the speciality.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellent clinical care and a desire to improve patient standards continually. You will be expected to work closely with the Senior Nursing team to progress and develop the nursing team and make positive changes. You will shareyour clinical expertise to develop the skills of the broader team through practice development, education, mentorship and preceptorship.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to manage a team of nurses and healthcare assistants, closely monitoring the progression of their clinical skills and encouraging their professional development. On a day-to-day basis, you will be relied upon to assume direct responsibility for the smooth running of the ward and providing a high-quality service to patients, co-ordinating care and prioritising the team's workload.

The successful applicant must have excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills and be approachable and supportive to work effectively as part of the team.

We are looking to recruit someone who will role model high clinical and professional standards, who is enthusiastic, kind and able to provide safe and compassionate nursing care to acutely unwell patients. You will be supported with a period of induction and encouraged to pursue your interests through further training and development opportunities at the Trust.
