Senior Pharmacy Technician - Clinical Trials

Job summary

As a registered Pharmacy Technician you will be part of the a dedicated small Pharmacy clinical trials team providing high quality and responsive Pharmacy research delivery service to our patients.

The successful candidate will be the technical lead within Pharmacy for clinical trial activity at both Trust sites.

This role involves working with teams both inside and outside of Pharmacy to ensure that clinical trials are run safely and efficiently within the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

Work with the multidisciplinary Pharmacy teams across both PRH and RSH sites to ensure that the Pharmacy Directorate delivers a standardised, safe and efficient clinical trials service with the patient at the centre of the process.

To lead the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Service at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust & provide Senior Leadership support to the Pharmacy Team.

Be a role model to Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officers (PATOs), providing leadership and encouragement amongst staff, engaging teams to be fully involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to their work

Review, develop and maintain harmonised processes across the pharmacy clinical trials service over all stages of a trial lifecycle: study set-up, maintenance, amendments and close-down, across all sites.

Work with the Head of Research and Innovation, Research and Innovation Managers, Research Nurses and Research Facilitators to open and oversee Clinical trials ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice.

To work with the Pharmacy Lead Research team to prepare for MHRA compliance inspections

Provide expert advice on pharmaceutical matters in relation to clinical trials to other health care professionals and patients.
