Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated band 2 Therapy Support Worker to join our in patient medical team (Team MERRIT) at The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust.
The role is based at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other support staff on the in patient medical , respiratory and renal wards.
The role includes direct contact with patients to establish how they coped at home prior to admission to hospital. After patients have been assessed by qualified therapists the therapy support worker will be involved in mobilising patients, carrying out functional tasks such as self care, kitchen activities and issuing and ordering equipment for patients.
The post holder needs to be flexible, have good time management skills, confident IT skills and work well in a team as well as independently.
We offer a weekend service, working one weekend day every 4 - 6 weeks and the post holder would be a part of this rota.
