Job summary
We are looking to recruit a kind, compassionate hardworking Band 5 nurse with an interest in dermatology to join our team.
The role will involve all aspects of dermatology nursing from skin cancer, skin surgery, acne, eczema, drug monitoring clinics as well as phototherapy.
We look after the whole age range of patients from babies to the older person. The role will involve cross site working to support the demand of the service.
Main duties of the job
The role involves supporting our in house surgical team in the removal of suspected skin cancers, acting as scrub nurse and delivering a high level of care to our patients. There will be the opportunity to deliver consent clinics for those patient who have gone through the telederm service. Our nurses run nurse lead clinics which includes acne, eczema, psoriasis which you will be trained to deliver as well as treatments such as phototherapy and drug monitoring, wound clinics. You will also be required to support the dermatology clinics and work alongside our Doctor colleagues.
About us
The post is in the Dermatology department, predominately in the outpatients department based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site, however this is a cross site service and the postholder may be required to cover dermatology clinics at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

Experience and Knowledge
Essential
- High level clinical skills and knowledge.
- Able to demonstrate the principles of teaching and learning within a clinical environment including practice assessment
- Involvement in Nursing audit and/or Research.
