Job summary
We are looking to employ a Health Care Assistant to assist the Paediatric Ward Managers in the running of the Children's Outpatient Departments at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford and The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Shrewsbury. The successful candidate will be working 4 days a week across both sites. The post holder may be required to work anywhere in the Trust where children are cared for.
The successful candidate will have clinical credibility, excellent communication and organisational skills. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys being part of a team and is passionate about a high standard of care being delivered to our patients and their families.

Main duties of the job
The Healthcare Assistant will maintain the efficient running of the paediatric outpatient department working under direct or indirect supervision.
The post holder will have the ability to cope with an unpredictable workload in, what can be, a stressful environment.
The post holder will assist in the delivery of fundamental elements of care, such as satisfying patient individual needs, ensuring that privacy, dignity and comfort is maintained for patients attending the outpatient setting.
About us
The Children's services are based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford and consist of a 36 bedded acute general paediatric ward, caring for children aged 0-17 years with medical, surgical, orthopaedic and oncology conditions, an 8 bedded Children's Assessment Unit and a Children's Outpatients Department. At The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital we have an Outpatient Department and a Medical Day Care Unit.
