Superintendent Radiographer in DXR and Computed Tomography (CT)

Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated experienced Radiographer with extensive post graduate experience in CT and General Radiography to join our Radiology Team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. This role is based at the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Hollinswood House, Telford and will include working closely with the senior clinical team at The Princess Royal Hospital site, Telford.
The successful applicant must have a BSc (Hon) Diagnostic Radiography or DCR, current HCPC registration and extensive post graduate experience in Computed Tomography (CT), General Radiography and team leadership.
Main duties of the job
To support in the operational management of the general imaging and CT department based at the Hollinswood House CDC (CDC) working closely with and under the direct guidance of the Lead Superintendent Radiographer based at The Princess Royal Hospital (PRH). This includes
Sharing their in depth knowledge obtained from experience and post graduate training in all aspects of general radiography and CT in a satellite Radiology Department supported by the team based at PRH.
Understanding, implementation and supporting in the documentation to manage legislation related to the use of ionising radiation in the General Radiography and CT department (Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations 17 (IRMER 17) and Ionising Radiation Regulations 17 (IRR17).
To continually develop the general and CT imaging service in conjunction with SaTH Radiology Centre.
To oversee the training, development and maintaining of competence for the general and CT imaging team, including undergraduate students.
To support in the facilitation of optimisation of patient pathways in conjunction with the Radiology Management team.
To actively participate in all clinical components of the roster

We boast a state of the art imaging department with a Philips Azurion Cath Lab installed in 2020. All of our general X-ray rooms are Philips C90 DXR supported by DXR mobile machines (installed 2020). This is in addition to a Philips Combi fluoroscopy/ DXR Room. Our CT service is provided by 2 Canon Azurion CT scanners installed in 2019 and 2021 and Siemens Aera MRI was installed in 2017.
In October 2023 we opened out Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Hollinswood House with Philips C90 DXR, Canon Azurion Prime CT scanner and Siemens Sola MRI scanner.
The department has an excellent on site teaching environment. The department is fully committed to role extension and has practicing Radiographers undertaking Ultrasound, Barium Swallows, CT Colonoscopy and plain film reporting.
