Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Centre as an Assistant Operations Manager. You will work as part of a dynamic and forward thinking Operational Team, striving to achieve the strategic and operational objectives in line with the Operational Delivery Plan, patient Care and Tier 1 Work.

Whilst working closely with the Operational and Clinical Leads to support in the day to day operational management , you will be able to build and maintain relationships in order to deliver on the varying priorities.

The post holder must be committed, adaptable and proactive in order to support the Acute Medicine and Emergency Department Clinical and non clinical Teams, whilst demonstrating a passion and desire to work within an MDT who are supportive and driven.

The individual will be a key contributor to the overall operational, workforce and finance performance and strategy of the Emergency Centre, working closely with colleagues in other divisions and departments.

Main duties of the job

  • To manage and maintain performance management systems to support delivery of the Centre's Operational Delivery Plan and Accountability Agreement.
  • Through the analysis and interpretation of a wide range of complex information, to continuously monitor clinical and financial performance within the Centre.
  • To ensure that all information relating to the activity of the Centre is recorded accurately and in a timely manner to enable performance to be continuously monitored.
  • To work closely with colleagues in the Finance, Performance Management, Corporate Nursing and HR functions to ensure that relevant and accurate information regarding the Centre's activity and performance is available.
  • To ensure that relevant information on activity and performance is disseminated as appropriate throughout the Centre to support effective decision-making.
  • To highlight areas of concern, prepare and present options for improvement and support the implementation of agreed plan.
  • Line Management responsibilities.
