Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a permanent Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse has become available at our friendly Renal Dialysis unit at Hollinswood House, Stafford Park, in Telford.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated dialysis nurse who is interested in gaining management experience and developing their leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

On the Dialysis Unit we care for patients undergoing Haemodialysis and focus on holistic care, we also promote self-care, which enables and empowers our patients. Our aim is to provide a high quality standard of individualised care and treatment to patients with established renal failure within a safe and supportive environment by friendly, competently trained staff.

Dialysis experience is essential, you will be supported to complete your acute dialysis competencies at our main unit at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Our patients are at the centre of everything that we do, we are looking for adynamic nurse to take over this role with a caring and compassionatenature to continue to develop our service and deliver the high standard of care that we offer.

  • Evidence of Continuing Professional development/ completion of renal accreditation/ education programme/ renal course
  • Nurse Independent Prescriber

Experience and Knowledge

  • Post registration with recent experience
  • High level clinical skills and knowledge
  • Evidence of successfully co-ordinating, managing and leading the team on a day to day basis.
  • Teaching ability
  • Experience in undertaking preceptor/mentor role.

  • Involvement in Nursing audit and Research.
  • An awareness and understanding of policy and practice relevant to speciality.
